Pilates was...

Created in the 1920's by Joseph H. Pilates. The Method focuses
on correct body alignment through neuromuscular retraining.
With a series of precise movements, Pilates uses specially
designed equipment to improve flexibility and strength, while
heightening awareness of muscle function and control.
Pilates is a productive form of exercise and rehabilitation that
stretches muscles, refines posture, and improves concentration.
The Method is good for people of all fitness levels, from teens to
senior citizens, and can be used during and after pregnancy.

Take the
7 train to 45th Road Court Square. Exit to the right
and walk half a block on 45th Road to 21-39 45th Road, 2nd
Floor.

Take the
E, M or G train to 21st and Ely and exit at the end
of the
G train and walk straight up 45th Road.
OR
Take the
N or W train to Queensborough Plaza. Transfer to
the 7 train towards Manhattan and come back one stop to
45th Road Courthouse Square.
